300 Years of Leadership and Innovation

Marking the 300th anniversary of the appointment of Britain’s first prime minister, Robert Walpole, and Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday, this project celebrates leadership across the spectrum of British society, from Parliament and Crown to captains of industry and those pushing the boundaries of innovation. 300 Years of Political Leadership spans the history of British power and influence, providing a fascinating overview of political change and the personalities that helped steer and shape the country.

Presented as two fully illustrated volumes – one charting Parliament’s most prominent figures and the other focusing on royal leadership – 300 Years of Leadership and Innovation features specially commissioned cover artwork and was written by a team of leading academics and authors, including experts from the universities of Oxford, Warwick and Exeter.

This impressive publication was received by members of both Houses of Parliament, as well as special advisors, researchers and staff across Westminster and Whitehall. More than 700 guests, including MPs and members of the media, gathered at Westminster Abbey’s Cloisters to attend the official launch.
