World Engineering Day

World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, or WED as it is known, is a powerful global celebration of engineers and engineering excellence. The often-unsung heroes of the modern world, engineers are the driving force shaping our modern world – whether delivering clean, safe drinking water or laying the foundations for the smart, sustainable cities of the future.

Founded by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), which represents more than 23 million engineering professionals across some 100 countries, WED is an international day proclaimed by UNESCO. Celebrated annually on 4 March, the day marks the start of a dynamic 12-month calendar of events, promotions and insights that champion engineering’s essential role in sustainable development worldwide.

As the official media partner and broadcaster for WED, we have helped amplify its global reach and purpose through our expertise in web development, film production and digital engagement. By sharing the human stories behind the incredible achievements and innovations of engineers, we connect and inform the professionals of today and inspire those who will go on to shape the world of the future.

Film

A key ambition of World Engineering Day is to bring stories of engineering excellence to life, and that’s where our film-making expertise comes into its own. Ranging from shorts reels to documentary-style pieces, the campaign’s films span every school of engineering and its associated industries, unearthing inspirational stories of real-world impact and innovation. Embedded in a year-long global campaign, these films do more than showcase achievement – they build trust, inspire action and position engineering as a powerful, human driver of positive change worldwide.

Digital

World Engineering Day’s 360-degree digital campaign is anchored by a dynamic website that brings together films, interviews, news, live-streamed events and social content, designed for seamless access across all devices. The site also features a collection of “hub” sections, celebrating the best of engineering in action. These highlight a specific organisation or project with a combination of editorial, film and photography, fostering meaningful engagement with audiences worldwide – a connection that is only heightened by WED’s vast network of aligned social media channels, which boast a reach of more than 150 million people worldwide.
