The Professional Footballers’ Association, or PFA, is the trade union representing footballers from every tier of the professional game in England and Wales. Founded in 1907 and with more than 5,000 active members, it is the world’s oldest professional sports trade union. To celebrate 50 years of the PFA Awards, we were asked to create a commemorative book charting the history of the greatest individual prize in British football.

Founded in 1907 and with more than 5,000 active members, it is the world’s oldest professional sports trade union. To celebrate 50 years of the PFA Awards, we were asked to create a commemorative book charting the history of the greatest individual prize in British football.
The resulting book was a must read for any fan of the beautiful game, documenting football’s evolution over the past five decades and containing interviews with many of the most famous names in the sport, including Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robin van Persie and Kenny Dalglish.
With a cover, photography and articles that capture the passion and drama of the sport, and contributions by leading football journalist Harry Harris, 50 Years of the PFA Awards is an emphatic account of the past half-century of the English game and its greatest players.
